Privacy Policy
Effective February 26, 2026
Introduction
Learn to Play Cards ("we," "our," or "the app") is an iOS application that teaches card games through lessons, quizzes, and interactive content. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how the app works.
This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and what choices you have.
Information We Collect
Local data stored on your device:
- Lesson progress and completion status
- Quiz scores and results
- CardIQ score and rank
- App settings and preferences
- In-app purchase status (ad removal)
This data is stored locally using Apple's UserDefaults and is never transmitted to any server. We do not operate any servers or databases. We do not create user accounts or collect personal information such as names, emails, or locations.
Advertising & Tracking
The free version of the app displays ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve relevant ads, AdMob may collect a device advertising identifier (IDFA) if you grant permission.
When you first open a game, the app will ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. You can choose to:
- Allow tracking — AdMob may use your device identifier to show personalized ads.
- Ask App Not to Track — AdMob will show non-personalized ads. The app works exactly the same either way.
You can change this choice at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.
If you purchase the "Remove Ads" upgrade ($4.99), all advertising is permanently disabled and no ad-related tracking occurs.
Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob — Ad serving and attribution. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple Game Center — Leaderboards and achievements. Managed entirely by Apple under their Privacy Policy.
- Apple StoreKit — In-app purchase processing. Handled by Apple; we never see your payment information.
Data Storage & Security
All app data (progress, scores, settings) is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any data on external servers. Your data stays on your device and is protected by iOS's built-in security.
Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
Learn to Play Cards is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation, does not collect names or emails, and does not include social features. Ad content is filtered for appropriateness through Google AdMob's child-safe settings.
Your Choices
- Opt out of ad tracking: Decline the ATT prompt or change it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Remove all ads: Purchase "Remove Ads" ($4.99) in the app's Settings tab.
- Delete all data: Use "Reset All Progress" in the app's Settings tab, or delete the app entirely.
- Limit ad tracking: Enable "Limit Ad Tracking" in your device's Privacy settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
